Maccabi USA has announced its squads for the Open and sevens competitions at this summer’s Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Boston Irish Wolfhound Ilya Wortman was selected to the squad, and is looking forward to representing the U.S.A. and Boston in Israel this coming year.

The Wolfhounds were mentioned today’s (9-20-12) edition of the popular publication Boston Metro.

All home games played at the ICC in Canton. Home K.O. typically 1:00pm unless otherwise announced. There is no admittance charge to our games and spectators / fans encouraged to attend.

The Boston Irish Wolfhounds Rugby Football club is seeking a backs coach/7s coach for the upcoming D1 season and beyond. Compensation is available depending on experience level.  Competitive applicants should have USA Rugby coaching certification or are willing to acquire certification in the near future.

About the Wolfhounds: The Boston Irish Wolfhounds are one of the largest and most successful rugby clubs in America with both D1 and D2 teams.  We train hard and play rugby to win. Our track record shows our commitment to rugby and we are looking to repeat our success from the past few years as well as develop our 7’s program to national contention. Since the year 2000, the Wolfhounds have competed at the highest level in USA Division 1 Rugby. Most recently, 2011 saw our Division 1 side return to the National Championships Final Four in Glendale, Colorado.

The golf outing is scheduled for 6/16/2012 at Putterham golf course in Brookline. We are putting a huge effort into making this event a huge success. New features this year will include: a $10,000 hole in one prize, as well as golf getaway trips. Other great giveaways and games of skill will abound around the course. This is one tournament you will not want to miss.

Come down to the ICC in Canton on Saturday 4/28 for a great day of rugby. The curtain raiser will see the wolfhounds old boys go up against the CT greys at 11:30, the Wolfhounds D1 side then takes on the Pittsburgh Harlequins at 1pm in the USArugby round of 32 crossover game. The day comes to a close with our DII boys taking on Old Gold rugby club in a friendly match. The weather will be beautiful, and this is a day of rugby you will not want to miss.

It is that time of year again folks; the sun is starting to shine, the days are growing longer, and once again the BIWRFC want to put some extra money in your pockets! Thats right, its time for the annual Raffle draw and party at Ned Devine’s in Faneuil Hall. The party will begin at 8 pm (and go until they kick us out) on Sunday, April 15th. This is a great venue and a good time will be had by all.

Our opponents in this tournament will be Mystic River and the game will be played at their ground the Pine Banks, 1087 Main St in Malden MA.

K.O. wil be 1:00pm and there follows a cup presentation and after game party at 6:00pm at the Green Briar in Brighton.
