Our Club

The Boston Irish Wolfhounds is one of the largest and most successful rugby clubs in America.  Though the majority of our players are American and have the familiar Boston accent, you’ll also hear accents from around the globe. From Ireland to New Zealand, South Africa to Australia, the Hounds have welcomed countless internationals to our ranks.

We train hard and play to win. Our track record shows our commitment to rugby and we are looking to repeat our success from the past few years. Since the year 2000, the Wolfhounds have competed at the highest level in USA Division 1 Rugby.

The Wolfhounds are a great club off the pitch as well.  The Hounds have a great social scene from organized parties and fundraisers to impromptu pints at the Green Briar after training or Ned Devines after games.

2011 saw our Division 1 side return to the National Championships Final Four in Glendale, Colorado. The Wolfhounds are now part of an evolving league with top teams from New England.

2007 presented a great opportunity for the club as we entered the Super League of US Rugby (RSL). As we continue to develop our players to compete at the highest level of rugby in the country, we have seen further success and improvement. A commendable D3 season in the fall of 2009 led to delegation to D2.

2006 was a hugely successful year as both our Division 1 and Division 3 sides made the finals in the USA National Championships; a feat never accomplished in the history of US Rugby. This followed our success from 2003 and 2004 when we won back to back Division 1 National Championships.  In 2007 our Division 3 side followed and won the Division 3 National Championship in San Diego CA.
