An Evening with Irish Rugby Legend Mick Galwey

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (ET)

MJ ‘Connors (Park Plaza Location)
Boston, MA

BIWRFC (and their Valentines!) are invited to come and meet Irish rugby legend Mick Galwey as he speaks about his playing years, 6 Nations matches, and current teams.

This event is hosted and sponsored by Netwatch, a full-service remote monitoring and response system for business based in Carlow, Ireland. Under Galwey, Munster became a powerhouse of European rugby, reaching two finals although they missed out on the Heineken Cup on both occasions.

An outstanding Gaelic footballer in his youth, Galwey tasted early success in that sport, winning an All-Ireland medal with Kerry at Croke Park as a 19-year-old. First capped by Ireland during the 1991 Five Nations Championship, he played for Ireland 41 times, scoring three tries, the most famous of which secured victory for Ireland over England at Lansdowne Road in 1993. He also went on to represent the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand that summer. He played his last game for Ireland in 2002 against Scotland.

Should be a great event. You must register to attend: http://eveningwithmickgalwey.eventbrite.com/

Save the Date – Xmas Party

It is that time of year again folks; the air is getting nippy, the leaves have fallen from the trees, and once again it is time for the BIWRFC annual Christmas Party. Like last year it will be held at ANTHEM in Faneuil Hall. The party will begin at 8 pm (and go until they kick us out) on Saturday December 3rd. This is a great venue and a good time will be had by all.
There are rumors that Santa Claus may show up again and may have treats for the good girls and good boys (so he will likely be traveling light that night). As the event draws nearer more info will follow.
